Peru Chopper Crash Kills 7

A helicopter crashed in the northern jungle region of Ucayali in northern Peru on Monday, killing all seven people aboard, including five U.S. citizens.

The helicopter crashed and exploded six minutes after its takeoff from Pucallpa.

A witness said the helicopter exploded and split in two as it hit the ground.

The helicopter owned by Columbia Helicopters was being used by an oil exploration company working in the area.

Reports say the passengers were employees of the company.

There has been no official report on the cause of the crash and the final casualty as yet.
