First Legoland in NY

If you are a fan of Lego and happen to be somewhere near New York, you are in luck!

A LEGOLAND Discovery Center will open in Yonkers, New York next Wednesday.

This is the toy company' s first theme park in Northeast America.

The LEGOLAND Discovery Center unveiled its LEGO Bricks Miniland Thursday, which was a replicate of New York City's famous landmarks such as Times Square, Grand Central, St. Patrick's Cathedral and Empire State Building.

"This is my favorite part in this place. And the lights going on with the remote, yeah it's real cool. This place is awesome."

20 LEGO model builders took 6 months and more than 1 million LEGO bricks to finish the Miniland.

With changing lights in buildings and surroundings, the complex completes a day to night cycle every five minutes.

"We are hoping it will inspire kids to build Lego, we've recreated New York City here, you can see the Empire State building, you see all the icons from the city and Westchester, we hope that kids come here will be  similar inspired."

The theme park features more than 3 million LEGO bricks on display and for play. Besides the Miniland, this indoor attraction also includes two amusement rides, hands-on play areas, a 4D cinema, and master classes.
