The most prestigious Boat Show in South American continent, the Rio Boat Show is being held these days.

However, the most attractive part of this year's exhibition is not in the exhibition hall, but in a lake. People gathered to watch water skiing performances on the lake of Rio, as the Brazilian intercontinental champion Marcelo Giardi demonstrated his superb skills.

Originated in the United States in the early 20th century, water skiing quickly gained popularity in some developed countries.

Water skiing is now trying to become an official event for the Summer Olympic Games.

According to statistics of Philippines Department of Tourism or DOT, Philippine tourist arrivals went up 11 percent to 1.27 million in the first quarter of the year.

Koreans still topped the list of foreign tourists, followed by the United States and Japan.

The DOT is optimistic that the influx of foreign tourists would be sustained for the rest of the year.

The Philippines targets 5.5 million foreign tourists arrival for 2013. By the end of 2016, the number of tourists arrival is expected to hit 10 million.
The DOT is confident that amidst continuing implementation of tourism-related reforms, more foreign visitors would start traveling come the Philippines.

The 20th construction exhibition "The City 2013" has been held in Russia's Vladivostok.

This year's exhibition gathered more than 115 companies from 25 countries including Russian, China, South Korea and United Arab Emirates.

The City 2013 exhibition also included various presentations and workshops, as well as competitions.
