Police in Shanghai have arrested a man who is suspected of killing six people in a local chemical factory.

The Shanghai government said the suspect is a 62-year-old man, surnamed Fan.

He killed one of his colleagues at around 5 pm on Saturday over an economic dispute.

He then took out his hunting rifle hidden in his dormitory and asked a driver to give him a ride to another district. He gunned down the driver on the way.

He drove the vehicle to an army camp and killed a guard at the gate and grabbed his gun.

After that, he returned to the plant and killed another three people.
