Miss global 2013 pageant to promote diversity

A different kind of beauty pageant has been held in California. Unlike other pageants, Miss Global 2013 focused more on intelligence and cultural diversity beyond the physical beauty.

Women aged between 18 to 35 gathered at Redondo beach in Los Angeles California last Saturday for the first every Miss Global pageant.

Presented by the Miss Global Organization in association with KimLoi media, the event attracted hundreds of people.

The 37 contestants were from different countries including China, Russia, and England.

Different from other pageants, Miss Global 2013 set a new standard allowing a more diverse selection of qualified women, who can be true global icons to others all over the world.

"We are gonna have a lot of fun. There are some tough competitions, it’s a little different from the basic pageant because not only the swimsuit and the evening gown like there used to be, but also the international wear. These ladies kind of wearing these outfit that are from their native land, and their original origin really, and they are fantastic."

The judges included Naima Mora, the winner of Cycle 4 of "America’s Next Top Model", Jenna Talackova who is the first trans gender contestant in Miss Universe Canada and Jake Pavelka from ABC’s "The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love."

"I’m looking for servitude, you know, Miss. Global is a platform to give back and impact people, so I’m looking for someone who has a giving heart, some of them who just really love people."

The winner of this cultural and beauty pageant, will be a sponsor of goodwill, a trendsetter for leadership and an ambassador for beauty and cultural diversity.

"To be kind of like universal woman, it’s really important for me to see and even be a part of such incredible pageant where the focus is creativities, intelligence, and philanthropy, and giving back, you know, it’s not just a title or a crown, it’s actually the girls are becoming Miss. Global and working as a global angel to help, encourage and really motivate women around the world".

Although the reign of Miss Global 2013 will only last about 12 months, the winning queen will travel throughout the world to participate in charitable fund raisers while promoting the beauty , intelligence and charm of women.
