Chinese national shot dead in Madagascar

 One Chinese national was shot dead on Sunday in Antananarivo, capital of Madagascar.

 
One witness said the 54-year-old victim came from China's northeastern province of Jilin.
 
The witness, who gave her name only as Yang, said she and the man were traveling home on a lorry when two gunmen rushed onto the vehicle and tried to seize the key.
 
As the man was trying to protect the key, one person shot him in the head and then fled away.
 
The man was dead on the spot.
 
The police said the two attackers were likely trying to rob the lorry.
 
The Indian Ocean island country has witnessed a significant increase in robbery and theft, with the Christmas holiday coming near.
