The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics is still seven years away, but the "Olympics Effect" has already emerged.

Local officials believe the Winter Games will further bolster the local tourism industry.
At the 2015 China Incentive Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition in Beijing, a local tourism official says the 2022 Winter Olympics will bring more tourists to the capital city of China in winter time, during which the city usually sees small number of tourists.
SOUNDBITE (CHINESE) SONG YU, Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development:
"Beijing sees 262 million tourists annually. It's already a big number. However, we usually see less tourists during winter. I think the Winter Olympics is a chance for Beijing to improve the situation."
The official also says the Winter Games will prompt Beijing to further improve its infrastructure construction to embrace the possible tourists boom.
