China to boost Muslim-oriented tour

 Landscape is not the only factor to attract tourists, but also a slew of others such as culture and religion.

 
With a population of about 20 million Muslims, China is exploring a way to attract Muslims world wide.
 
The ambition has unrolled at the 2015 China-Arab States Tour Operators Conference.
 
The 2015 China-Arab States Tour Operators Conference was held in Yinchuan,capital of northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, on Tuesday.
 
More than 150 tour operators and tourism officials from 21 countries and regions gathered in the conference to seek cemented cooperation in developing Muslim tourists market.
 
Home to more than 2.36 million Hui people, a Muslim ethnic in China, Ningxia has the largest Muslim population in China.
 
Thanks to its big Muslim population, China's Muslim tourists market is promising.
 
Tourism authority of the country has also pledged more support in this field.

"Tour cooperation between China and Muslim community should be strengthened by increasing direct flights, facilitating visa process, promoting language communication and so on. We should also aim to strengthen developing appropriate products for Muslim tourists as well as popularizing our scenic spots to them.”
 
On the ancient Silk Road routes, Ningxia has strong cultural ties with Arab states, which provides a platform for Muslim tourism cooperation.

"At the moment, there are a lot of tourists from Malaysia. They all concentrate on the eastern part of China. So we want the Muslim, even all the Malaysians to concentrate on the western part of China, especially this area. Muslim in Malaysia and in China can exchange ideas, culture. We have found that Ningxia have a lot that can provide for Malaysia. You have the desert, you have the valley, you have the river. And the food is good."
 
The conference is one of the activities of the 2015 China-Arab States Expo, an important cooperation mechanism for the Belt and Road Initiative.
 
Themed "Spread Silk Road Spirit, Deepen China-Arab Cooperation", the second China-Arab States Expo will be held from Sept. 10 to 13.
