Italian legendary coach Marcello Lippi received a contribution award for his great contribution to China's football.
Lippi had been the coach and the technical director of Chinese Super League (CSL) champions Guangzhou Evergrande for three years.
Under Lippi's guidance, Evergrande claimed the Chinese top-flight league in 2012, 2013 and 2014, won the CFA Cup in 2012, and made the history by taking the AFC Champions League title for the first time in 2013.
"I always told them that in order to push the progress of football in China, it is certainly important to acquire good players and coaches from all over the world, but it is more important to lay the foundations for a development of the youth sector".
Lippi resigned his post last February for health and family considerations.
He said he would still seek for opportunities to coach football team near home.
