Currently ranked world's no. 3, Lin Dan won the Brazil Open men's singles title by outclassing Spain's Pablo Abian 21-13, 21-17.

Sunday's result comes at the end of an inconsistent year for Lin.

The five-time World Champion was eliminated from the Hong Kong Open, China Open and French Open in the lead up to the tournament at Riocentro.

After winning the game, the two-time Olympic champion said he will scale back commercial activities next year and become totally focused on the Rio Olympic Games.
