A wildfire is burning in multiple different directions north of Los Angeles.

Santa Clarita County is under red flag warning Saturday evening.

And hundreds of homes are under mandatory and voluntary evacuations.

Fire officials say the blazing fire started as a brush fire friday afternoon.

But it has spread to thousands of acres.

A ten to 20 miles- per- hour winds blowing towards the east is causing the forest and unhabited areas to burn.

Officials are concern the strong winds might push the fire to the west, where residents and buildings are located.

They have set up shelters for residents and animals.

The US forest service say only 10 percent of the fire is contained.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
