The West Indian day parade took place as scheduled today in New York, hours after a pair of fatal shootings.

Thousands of people gathered along Brooklyn’s eastern parkway for the 49th annual parade, but the future of the festivities are mystery.

That after a 22-year-old woman and 17-year-old boy were shot and killed during a pre-dawn festival prior to the parade.

At least five other people were hurt in other violent attacks.

Last year, an aide to New York governor Andrew Cuomo was gunned down at the pre-parade festival.

New York City mayor bill de blasio says officials will review the future of the festival, but would not say if the parade might be canceled next year.
