Experts-China leads green development

Chinese government has vowed to pursue a strategy of sustainable development and stay committed to green, low-carbon and circular development.
 
An environment expert lauds China's efforts, saying other countries have a lot to learn from China.

"Because for a long time and over the last two or so decades the world over has looked at China as the global Perrier on issues environmental and it was as if the world was giving up that China's development trajectory and philosophy in total disregard of the environment."
 
The expert says Africa also has to change their ways of growth.

"Africa and generally our own Kenya needs to shift from this development paradigm which looks as pavements and walls and skyscrapers as the representation of development, it is not."
 
The expert says environmental protection is connected with productivity.

"you have to look at the social aspect of the equation, you have to address the environmental concerns rising from economic production and of cause you have to deal with the economic aspect of it and what that statement then underscores is that even what you seem to loose in terms of direct economic output you stand to gain by far in terms of ensuring environmental integrity."
