Locks removed from the Brooklyn Bridge

The Brooklyn Bridge is a little lighter this weekend after officials removed locks and other items from the structure.
The bridge is a popular spot for lovebirds to leave padlocks as a symbol of love.
But the locks weigh down the bridge, and a wire attached to a bridge light recently snapped off due to the locks.
The New York city department of transportation sent a crew to the bridge Friday to remove the locks.
Officials will soon install signs warning visitors face a 100-dollar fine if they're caught tying any item to the bridge.
But there is a bright side to the story.
The city is looking to put together a space where locks would be allowed.
