Polish President Andrzej Duda has called China's Belt and Road Initiative an important project with great economic impetus and geopolitical developmental potential.
Duda made the remarks while addressing the Polish-Chinese international conference in Opole, southwest Poland.
Duda said the Belt and Road Initiative means many chances and opportunities.
He said concrete examples of common initiatives could already be seen, such as China-Poland rail cargo connection and partnerships between academic and research centers.
Also speaking at the event, Chinese Ambassador to Poland, Xu Jian, said Poland was also an important partner for China, and a "gate to Europe".
From 2013 to 2016, Chinese-Polish trade volume rose from 6 percent a year to hit 17.6 billion dollars.
In particular, Polish goods can be seen on Chinese dinner tables, with dairy products, wine, fruits, meat and other high-quality food products popular in China.
