US China innovation and investment summit

The 2nd U.S.-China Innovation and Investment Summit (UCIS) has kicked off in Houston.
 
Participation of senior officials and entrepreneurs from the two countries say China and the United States are highly complementary with great potential for deepening cooperation in the field of technology innovation.
 
The summit aims to facilitate collaboration between innovative technology companies, venture capitalists, private equity, startup accelerators and incubators.
 
Speaking at the summit, Houston's dignitaries were confident that innovation would become a new engine for the cooperation between China and the United States.

"We have about 18 billion dollars worth of business with China, and that is between the city of Houston and China on the annual basis. It is my hope that I am going to do everything I can to increase that relationship between the two."
 
The summit, which was jointly organized by China Science and Technology Exchange Center and U.S.-China Innovation Alliance, provides a unique opportunity for U.S.-based technology companies to connect with investors, strategic partners, leading incubators or accelerators, and professional services firms from China.
 
The event also offers a chance for Chinese investors to browse upcoming exciting investment opportunities in the US technology industry. 
 
Whilst American firms hope to find Chinese partners, helping them gain access to China's huge and still growing domestic market.
