"My name is Zhang Shuyi and I am the first batch of residents here in our neighbourhood. I have carried out garbage sorting for four years. At first, I was not so used to it, but now it's like second nature."

The garbage is divided into different categories, such as recyclable waste, toxic and harmful materials, and unrecyclable items.

To encourage more people to participate, activities are held that help residents learn about environmental protection.

Zhang always takes part in these activities.

"It is fundamental to guarantee our environment with less pollution. If some waste can be reused, it is good thing for our country. We must go on to carry out garbage classification and make efforts to improve the quality of our lives."

Zhang said although the garbage sorting in this village may be small-scale, it could make a significant impact for the environment if replicated nationwide.
