China has donated 98 buses and two wreckers to Cambodia to help the country expand its public transportation in capital Phnom Penh.
A Chinese embassy official in Cambodia addressed the donating ceremony on Thursday, saying the new buses will support Phnom Penh's efforts to expand its public transport service.
The Phnom Penh mayor says the 98 buses and 2 wreckers are worth 8.4 million U.S. dollars.
The mayor thanked the Chinese government for supporting Cambodia's infrastructure development.
The mayor says Phnom Penh launched public transport service in 2014.
Currently, 43 buses are operating on three routes, and some 7,000 commuters use the service every day.
