More developments in allegations of Russia-Trump campaign collusion, as a former Soviet military officer said he met last year with the President's eldest son.
Donald Trump Junior has already admitted to meeting the Russian attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya, who promised to help the Trump Presidential campaign with smears about rival candidate Hillary Clinton.
On Friday, the prominent Russian-American lobbyist Rinat Akhmetshin said that he too was at that June meeting.
Akhmetshin is a former Soviet military officer and is reported to have ties to Russian intelligence.
He's a well-known Washington presence, lobbying for Russian interests and is the namesake of a U.S. sanctions law.
Akhmetshin said in an interview that he accompanied Natalia Veselnitskaya to Trump Tower, in a meeting to pitch how the Democratic party was supposedly accepting illicit funds.
Federal and congressional investigators are currently investigating possible connections between Trump's campaign and Moscow.
On Thursday, the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee asked Trump Jr. to testify before Congress, saying it will subpoena him if necessary.
If he appeared before the panel, Trump's son would be the most prominent Republican and White House member to testify about the Russia allegations.
