Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says Moscow "is ready to normalize its dialogue" with Washington if Washington abandons its "confrontational approach" with Moscow.
Lavrov met with U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Sunday on the sidelines of a series of ASEAN ministers' meetings in the Philippine capital.
Both sides discussed Russia's countermeasures to U.S. sanctions.
In a statement issued through TASS Russian News Agency, Lavrov stressed that the U.S. sanctions could not be left unanswered.
He said Moscow is ready to normalize the dialogue if Washington gives up the confrontational line.
