For people who have been playing tennis for thirty years, they're most likely to be in their forties or fifties.

But not Ed Parker.

He didn't pick up a racket until he was sixty.

And as CNC reports, he's still swinging at ninety years old.

"The name is the early birds, because we get out here early, with the birds."

This group has been meeting for almost 20 years.

One of these early birds just celebrated a special milestone.

"I started about 30 years ago."

Ed Parker took up the game of tennis at 60 years old.

He's now 90 with no signs of slowing down.

"(Did you ever imagine at the age of 90 you'd be playing tennis?)No I didn't. Sure didn't. But I'm thrilled. I try to get around pretty good. I try to figure out what they are going to do. It's a mind game, plus a physical game."

He spent most of his life working for a printing company.

"When I stopped working I started playing tennis to have something to do."

Like any athlete, the game takes a toll on the body.

"Yeah well my legs and knees are bad."

But somehow Ed Parker keeps serving up aces and smiles.

"It gives us hope and inspiration. If we can get out on the court and play half as well as Ed…we just love him to death and hope he continues to keep playing."

So on this day they celebrate Ed Parker.

But just because he's the oldest on the court.. Doesn't mean they're gonna take it easy on him.

SOUNDBITE: ED PARKER, Tennis player
"Sometimes they beat up on me. At times I ain't playing too good."

He might be sand bagging a little bit here.

Ed still makes plenty of good shots, showing these younger fellas how to do it.
