"The city of Xiamen has many natural areas of cooperation with the other four BRICS countries, such as complementary resources and its geographic location. During 2011 to 2015, trade volume between Xiamen and BRICS countries increased nearly 10 percent every year. The four countries have  all entered the top 20 trade destinations for Xiamen. Especially in the first half of this year, BRICS-Xiamen trade volume increased rapidly, exports rose more than 60 percent and imports 82 percent."

For Xiamen, which was established as one of China's earliest special economic zones in the early 1980s, the BRICS Summit is a golden opportunity for the world to rediscover the city's glory.
