Study finds best la liga player of all time

It's a debate that has raged across football stadiums, bars and living rooms across the world - who is La Liga's best ever player?
Now a new study claims to have the answer.
Spain's top league has hosted some big names since it started in 1929.
Ronaldinho. Di Stefano. Maradona. But who was the best?
CHIEFE looked at the records of all 9,280 players who have participated in La Liga's 86 seasons.
They based their results on all aspects of the game, including: the total minutes they played every season, goals, assists and the number of times they have been sent off.
The winner? Lionel Messi. La Liga's all-time top scorer with 349 goals, he was declared to be the best player Spanish football has ever seen.
Runner up was former Real Madrid striker, Raul Gonzalez in second place and Cesar Rodriguez in third.
The report didn't carry much good news for Messi's biggest current rival Cristiano Ronaldo. Real Madrid's Portuguese international was ranked way down the list on a lowly 17th position.
However, both Ronaldo and Messi can improve their numbers further when the new season kicks off in Spain in just under a fortnight.
