China and the Philippines have agreed to speed up the working process of cooperative projects, hoping to make vital progress within this year.
That's according to a Chinese commercial official on Saturday.
The official says Chinese Commerce Minister Zhong Shan has met with Philippine economic officials on the sidelines of ASEAN  Economic Ministers' meeting and related meetings in Manila.
They had concrete discussions on the projects such as airports, railways, and irrigation system.
Both sides agreed to expedite the working process and hoped to make significant progress before the ASEAN summit in November.
The projects are included in the Six-Year Development Program for Trade and Economic Cooperation.
Signed in March this year, the program aims to provide a guideline for trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
