Mexican Earthquake Death Toll Hits 90

Authorities in Mexico have confirmed the number of victims from the 8.2-magnitude earthquake on Thursday has risen to 90.

Local officials confirmed 71 people died in southern state of Oaxaca and others were killed in neighboring states.

Six people remain missing.

Over 800,000 people have been displaced. Some 324 public schools have suffered structural damage.

Mexico's government said the search and rescue would continue until there were no further reports of missing persons.

The 8.2-magnitude earthquake struck off Mexico's southern coast on Thursday night.

The quake was felt by at least 50 million people in 12 states.

Authorities said it was the most intense earthquake the country has suffered in a century.
