Tortoise rescued from restaurant

A protected tortoise had a lucky escape in Ximeng, southwest China's Yunnan Province.
The tortoise was almost crushed by cars and then was saved from a restaurant. 
The manouria impressa - or impressed tortoise - is a second-class protected animal in China.  
This one was nearly crushed by cars while wandering the streets in Yunnan Province.
In June, a women saw the turtle crawling on the road when she was back from Mengka town.
It was kept in a restaurant, where it was discovered by local forest police.
On August 10th, when we inspected the restaurants in Mengka town, we found that a tortoise was domesticated in a restaurant.
It was quickly identified by the relevant agencies. After a period of feeding and observation, the police released it to the wild.
