Dance drama 'Jinggang Jinggang' kicks off in Beijing

Students from the Beijing Dance Academy and Ji'an College joined together this week, to perform an original dance drama called “ Jinggang, Jinggang”.
The dance drama has been inspired by the Jinggang Mountains in east China's Jiangxi Province, where late Chairman Mao Zedong established a rural revolutionary base in 1927.

"Jinggangshan is known as the birthplace of the Chinese Red Army and the cradle of the Chinese revolution. This year marks the 90th anniversary of the establishment of Jinggangshan revolutionary base, as well as the 90th anniversary of the Autumn Harvest Uprising and the People Liberation Army.The 19th CPC National Congress is around the corner. Beijing Dance Academy are collaborating with Ji'an College to create the dance drama "Jinggang Jingang", aimed at promoting revolutionary culture significantly."
Based on true stories, the original dance drama depicts the red army and local residents in the Jinggang Mountains went through a hard revolutionary process, showing the spirit of Jinggangshan.
The spirit mainly consists of working hard, fearing no sacrifice, and firm belief in communism and the ultimate victory of the revolution.
The dance drama‘Jinggang, Jinggang’ is part of the Spring Flowers and Autumn Fruits - 2017 Chinese Art Schools Week.
As an art festival, the event is offering a platform for performers at the National Center for the Performing Arts.
