Experts: belt & road initiative benefits s asia

Experts from China and South Asia Monday said the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by China provides an opportunity for the common development of South Asia.
 
The experts made such remarks during a seminar on 'Contours of the Belt and Road Initiative for South Asia" in Kathmandu.
 
Addressing the ceremony, the speakers said China's Belt and Road Initiative will promote infrastructure and socio-economic development in  South Asia.

"Belt and Road initiative not only connects the land between Asia, Africa and Europe but it is the 21st century initiative which connects whole of the world. We can share the ideas and benefits."

"Belt and Road initiative will be an opportunity for us to improve our connectivity and infrastructure and open new avenues of cooperation in the areas like trade, investment, transmission line and transit."
 
Nepali officials added that Nepal can act as a bridge between China and South Asia and can connect not just roads and railways, but also culture, values and civilization.
 
On the occasion, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal said there's great potential on project cooperation between China and the South Asian countries.

"China and all South Asian countries are developing countries and we are similar in the development stage, close in desires for development and complementary in development advantages which provide a great potential for cooperation."
 
South Asia has a population of over 1.7 billion and enjoys rich resources, great potential market, superb geographic location and immense natural resources.
