Egypt Comix Week held in Cairo

The fourth Egypt Comix Week is underway in Cairo.
The event brings artists from around the world, and aims at promoting the art of comics in Egypt.
Lifestyle went along for a closer look.
The main subject of the event this year is about how the art of comics could reflect the reality.
Taking part are artists from Europe and Canada. As well showing off their work, the cartoonists also provide lectures to young Egyptian artists.
"The 4th session of comics week puts spotlight on the interactive of comics with reality, as comics is a mirror reflects reality, we have artworks, by two Polish artists, discusses the reality in Poland, also we will release a book from Canada discusses how comics could interact with terrorism"  
The late Cartoonist, Ali Reda, who was born in 1908, is the main draw of this year's event, with a special exhibition showing off his style.
"The participant artworks cover a great side of the artist (Ali Reda), who have great artworks in comics,pictured stories with his different and unique style,as he created many characters,and he drew Tarazan."
Egypt has a proud history of producing comic strips. 
Local stars include Mohieddine Ellabbad whose work appeared in numerous magazines such as the weekly Sabah Al-Kheir, and "Sinbad the Sailor" published by Dar Al-Maaref.
