China launches remote sensing satellites

China has launched two remote sensing satellites in northern Shanxi Province. 
The 0.5-meter high-resolution satellites are part of efforts to expand China's commercial use of data.
The satellites were launched on a Long March 2D rocket from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center on Tuesday
The mission is aimed at promoting China's commercial use of high-resolution remote sensing satellites.
They are expected to offer new data to customers worldwide and provide services to surveys, mapping, environmental monitoring, and finance and insurance fields
The satellites were developed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation.
It is their second launch of commercial remote sensing satellites, the first was in 2016.
