In Jinan, the capital of east China's Shandong Province, getting around by public transport is becoming easier, as buses are now allowing mobile payments.
Jinan Public Transportation Group has announced mobile payment terminals are now available on its some 5,300 buses.
Jinan is now the third city in China after Hangzhou and Wuhan to have offered mobile payments on all its buses.
"I studied in Australia, and I never saw something like this there. This is the first time. It's so convenient, especially for young people who prefer to pay everything by mobile phones."

"On Wednesday, we received more than 6,000 yuan from mobile phones. By 10 o'clock a.m. today, we had received more than 2,500 yuan. As more and more passengers get to know about the mobile payment, the figure will go up."
The terminals were developed by the bus company and Alipay.
ApplePay, SamsungPay, HuaweiPay, MiPay and AndroidPay can be also used with smartphones or wearables devices.
Nonetheless, traditional cash payments and city transport cards will still be accepted.
