The World Bank released a report on Wednesday... predicting a strong year for Pakistan's economy, and better growth ahead.

In its global economy report, the World Bank says it expects the Pakistani economy to grow a record 5.5 percent in the 2017-18 fiscal year.

It also predicts even stronger growth in the coming years - averaging of 5.9 percent.

The report puts the economic bump down to robust consumption, a rise in investment, and increased exports.

Despite the optimism, the World Bank also warns of possible dangers.

It says fiscal imbalances pose the biggest threat to Pakistani economy, while a weak tax regime and this year's general elections also add to the uncertainties.

The World Bank also warns that Pakistan's widening Current Account is also a major cause of concern.
