The Samjiyon orchestra from the DPRK has staged a performance in the South Korean city of Gangneung.
The show comes just one day before the opening of the PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
The performance began 8 p.m. local time Thursday. Many arrived early to queue up in front of the Gangneung Arts Center, which was heavily guarded by South Korean police.
Across the show, the 140-strong group performed a medley of styles:traditional songs popular in the peninsula, South Korean pop songs and rearranged world classics.
Watching on were 560 lucky people - who beat odds of 140-to-one for their seats. Another 250 guests were also in the crowd.
Local media called the show a "complete success."
The Arts Center is located next to an ice hockey stadium, where the South Korean and DPRK women athletes will jointly play as one team for the Winter Olympics.
The Samjiyon orchestra arrived in South Korea on Tuesday and rehearsed their performance in Gangneung on Wednesday.
The orchestra will give another concert in the National Theater of Korea in Seoul on Sunday, for another 1,000 lottery ticket winners.
