India launches solar power plant

India has launched a solar-power plant with a capacity of over 2000 megawatt.
The project is part of the country's plan to boost the use of clean energy.

Located at Pavagada in south Indian province of Karnataka, the park is being described as one of the world's largest solar power plants. 
600-megawatt of power generation has already been commissioned at this plant. 
Another 1400 megawatt is to be ready by end of this year. 
India has rapidly expanded its solar-generation capacity over the last three years.
The country is looking forward to achieve an ambitious goal of installing 100 gigawatt solar power by 2022.
