Located in the southern Moroccan town of Marrakech, the Majorelle Garden is known for its elegance.

The Garden has become one of the most famous tourist sites in the country.

Let's take a look.

It took forty years for French painter Jacques Majorelle to create this magical place.

Majorelle Garden opened to the public since 1947 and it is soon known to the world.

Unfortunately, the garden was left abandoned after Jacques Majorelle went bankrupt.

Yves Saint Laurent bought the Majorelle Garden in 1980.

Now it is transformed into a museum with an exhibition of haute couture works from Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge collection.

SOUNDBITE: MME HANANE ELMRABET HADI, Yves Saint Laurent Foundation
"The number of visitors to the garden increased every year which really surprised us. Meanwhile, we are working hard to show the diversity of Morocco."
