Indonesia supports AIIB operation

Indonesian government supports Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and counts on the bank to foster its domestic economy. 
Indonesian President Joko Widodo expressed the statement while receiving delegations from the Beijing-based bank on Monday.
Indonesia expected the bank to foster and increase the quality of infrastructure development in Asian countries.
Indonesian official also proposed the bank to finance several of its national strategic programs such as irrigation, tourism, and renewable energy projects.

"President hopes AIIB, as an institution focusing on infrastructure in Asia, can really finance infrastructure projects needed in Asia and solve problems to foster and increase infrastructure quality."
As one of the founding members of AIIB, Indonesia plans to strengthen the cooperation with the institution. 
The multilateral institution financed USD 216 million to Indonesian national upgrading program, which operates in 34 provinces of the country.
