China-Austria ties -- Envoy: Cooperation potential big

Austria's President and Chancellor will be making a historic double-visit to China this month.
Ahead of the event, the Chinese Ambassador told CNC the visit holds a lot of potential.
The joint visit will be the first of its kind since China and Austria established diplomatic ties 47 years ago.
Later this month, President Alexander Van der Bellen, Chancellor Sebastian Kurz and four Austrian ministers are scheduled to tour Beijing, Chengdu and Hainan Province.
According to the Chinese Ambassador to Austria, the visit will be an important opportunity for deepening bilateral relations.
Li Xiaosi said a number of cooperation documents to promote cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, logistics are expected to be signed.
He added that Austria has showed interest in joining the Belt and Road Initiative, there is great potential to cooperate between both sides.
Li said that there could also be a breakthrough with Austria on the China-Europe land-sea express route.
The visit comes with trade between the two countries on the increase. Last year Austria-China trade rose 15 percent to a new historic high of 8.4 billion U.S. dollars.
