China-Laos economic, trade CO-OP

The ninth meeting of the China-Laos economic and trade cooperation committee has been held in the Lao capital, Vientiane.
The two countries agreed to further enhance bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
The meeting, held on Friday, reviewed the all-around performance of bilateral cooperation in economic and trade sectors, and put forward requirements to further carry out bilateral economic and trade cooperation projects.
Both sides agreed to employ proactive measures to further expand bilateral trade volume. 
The Chinese side said it is willing to increase imports from Laos. 
Both sides agreed to enhance large infrastructure project cooperation in the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, actively promote China-Laos economic corridor construction projects, and continue close coordination to ensure the smooth construction of the China-Laos railway.
China has been the largest source of foreign investment in Laos.
The two sides also agreed to strengthen communication and cooperation in the multilateral and regional framework of Lancang-Mekong Cooperation, China-ASEAN, and RCEP in order to jointly achieve the completion of RCEP negotiations as soon as possible.
