11 Killed in NE China Mine Blast

 Eleven people were killed and nine injured in an iron mine blast in northeast

China's Liaoning Province on?Tuesday.
Local?authorities?said?23 miners have been rescued while two remain missing?in the iron-ore mine, which was constructed by Huamei Group in Benxi City.
Search work is underway.
The blast occurred at around 4:10 p.m. Tuesday when miners dropped explosives down the 1,000-meter-deep mine shaft.
The injured have been sent to hospital for medical treatment.?Five of them suffered heavy injuries.
Three?rescue?teams?were?dispatched?by?the?provincial?work?safety?bureau?over night. Power supply, ventilation and the hoisting system have been?recovered.
