DISABLED GREEK TEACHES KUNG FU

 Kostas Moukas is Greece's the only disabled Chinese martial arts teacher.

Moukas opened a training school, hoping to promote Chinese Kung Fu to more people.

At his school, the disabled students are grouped together to practice a special regime.
 
Moukas believes that his training methods are physically and mentally beneficial for his students.

"You must gain your autonomy, re-discover your body with new techniques. Wushu is the best way to practice your whole body."
 
His students all seem very fond of the Kung Fu classes.

"You build strong character, self-confidence, certainty, serenity and social ties. We do the trainings together. Our shirts were all in sweat. It is an unique experience."
 
But more than that, Moukas also created the first para-Kung Fu national championship, cooperating with a local Kung Fu federation.

"Over the past two years, with the patronage of the Hellenic Kung Fu Federation, we managed to invite disabled athletes to the national championship. We also train the judges. So the term para-Kung Fu has been coined in Greece."
 
The instructor also expects more contestants in the future.

"There are approximately 10 participants. We hope the number will reach 100 and we will host a dedicated tournament."
