Fiji Hails Chinese Naval Hospital Ship Visit

Fijian Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has hailed  the visit by the Chinese naval hospital ship also known as Ark Peace.
The medical ship is on an eight-day goodwill visit to Fiji to provide medical services to locals.
Ark Peace is currently on a humanitarian initiative known as Mission Harmony-2018.

At the invitation of the commanders of the Chinese naval hospital ship, Bainimarama came onboard to visit the medical staff and joined the deck reception hosted by the Ark Peace. 
He also inspected the honor guard of the ship.
Bainimarama lauded the ship's visit to provide free medical service to Fijians, saying that this will further strengthen the traditional friendship between the two peoples. 
The prime minister also hoped that the visit will help bring the strategic partnership of mutual respect and common development between the two countries to a new high. 
For his part, Chinese Ambassador to Fiji Qian Bo also hailed the ship's visit to Fiji, saying that the current visit is both a journey of friendship and of peace.
Fiji is the third stop of Ark Peace's current mission.
This is the medical ship's second visit to Fiji, after its first successful tour four years ago.
