Chinese architecture nominated at UK designs of the year

 In the UK, the Designs of the Year Exhibition opened on Wednesday at the Design Museum in London.

The exhibition displays a shortlist of works for the tenth anniversary of its annual show and recognizes some of the world's best designs.
The exhibition brings together 87 nominations across six categories: Architecture, Digital, Fashion, Graphics, Product and Transport. Winners will be announced on November 15, 2018.
One of the exhibits from the architecture category is the Digua Community Center, designed by Chinese Designer Zhou Zishu.

"The Digua community center which is this incredible project by the architect in Beijing, Zhou Zishu, who is working with the local government, converted underground Bomb Shelters built in Beijing during the Mao era into community centers for area residents. To the city brain, which is a smart city platform designed by Alibaba."
Sketches, models, prototypes, videos, and photography are on display to represent the nominations, providing a compelling snapshot of the current world of design.
The exhibition combines the world's most established talent alongside graduates and rising stars, and offers a rare opportunity to see the best in a range of industries,objects and technologies under one roof.
