China automobile company, Changan Automobile, has set a Guinness World Record for operating the largest driverless car cruise team.
Take a look.
A long motorcade of 56 model CS55 Changan automobiles have recently conducted the cruise test.
55 of them set a new Guinness World Record, by successfully cruising together in automatic driving mode for 3.2 kilometers.
To set the record, the lane had to be 12 percent narrower than standard.
Changan says it has improved cars' sensors, decision control technology and action control systems to achieve the goal.
SOUNDBITE(CHINESE) YANG GUO, Technical staff with Changan
"This is the first enterprise in the world to complete the challenge. We had to be able to subtly manipulate the brakes and gas pedals of the two cars next to each other. I think that is the biggest challenge for us."
Tesla had previously tried to set the record but failed.
