Sri Lanka Names Buddhist Scripture as Heritage

 Sri Lankan President has declared an ancient Buddhist scripture as a national heritage. 

A historic ceremony of declaring the "Thripitakaya" as a national heritage was held at the Aluviharaya?Temple in Matale, in central Sri Lanka on Sunday.
It was attended by thousands of Buddhist monks and devotees.
Local media reports said the aim is to preserve pure Buddhism to benefit people across the world.
