VENEZUELAN OIL WORKERS REJECT US SANCTIONS

Thousands of Venezuelans have gathered at the headquarters of state-owned oil company PDVSA in Caracas to protest U.S. sanctions against Venezuelan oil.

Venezuela's Minister of Petroleum, Manuel Quevedo, took part in the rally and described the U.S. sanctions as "robbery."

 "The U.S. has taken a unilateral, arbitrary decision, which practically is a theft of our oil company."
 
State-owned oil company PDVSA was hit by U.S. sanctions amid Venezuela's political crisis.
 
Protesters described the sanctions as a disguised embargo against Venezuelan oil.
 
PDVSA is responsible for an overwhelming majority of Venezuela's oil exports. The White House recently called the company "a primary source of Venezuela's income and foreign currency."
