The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Bangladeshi government have signed an agreement for 50 million U.S. dollars in loan to promote the country's micro-enterprise development.

The loan aims to promote micro enterprise development for inclusive economic growth and poverty reduction.
Manmohan Parkash, country director of the ADB, said that the greatest constraint in developing microenterprises in Bangladesh is the limited access to finance, and the project will provide financing to ease such constraint.
The project will make financing institutions more market oriented, help small companies develop finance skills, while monitoring environmental and social safeguards.
