Chinas NGOs help reduce poverty

 Social organizations in China include community groups, trust foundations, industry organizations and non-profit organizations. There are currently more than 816,000 such groups operating in the country.

Social organizations have become an especially important force in poverty alleviation.
Members of social organizations are encouraged by the government to play a greater role in poverty reduction, as the country aims to lift all rural residents out of poverty by the year 2020.
China's Ministry of Civil Affairs vowed to continue efforts to help social organizations participate in poverty alleviation, by resolving difficulties and punishing wrongdoings.
