The eighth Cape Town International Animation Festival took place in Cape Town over the weekend.

From exhibitions to film screenings, the annual festival seems to have continuous appeal for visitors.
Special guest speakers, including Academy Award-winning producer and Academy Award-nominated director,?took part in a variety of events.
And the festival saw more visits compared with previous years.
"I love this festival, it is one of the highlights of the year. You get to see so many new things new people and new ideas. You get to see success stories from Africa. It’s amazing to see what people are creating, what they are dreaming of, and what they are willing to put money into."
"A lot of the work is very high quality, especially with regards to animation, the Studios, the WACOM section, the demonstrations they are doing I found very fascinating. I am working at an animation station, so I’ve seen people on Cosplay, so it’s been fantastic in terms of positive impact it’s had. The drawings and the short films, it been really amazing."
"This year we have seen an increase in the number of feet through the door, which is good from a supplier point of view. We are representing WACOM here. Wacom is the tool of choice for the kids. The people doing animation have to use a WACOM tablet, so it’s a natural marriage for us to be here. We have world leading animation people and companies in South Africa. I don’t know if I can speak for Africa, but here in South Africa and certainly Cape Town, the people we have met here, like Furor from Joburg, awesome 3D designer working on projects like Transformers. The guys from Trigger Fish down here; Caroline, Ben, all those guys, the work is world class. We are right up there with the rest of the world."
