Turkey gears up for Beijing Horticultural Expo

 Turkey's trade minister says the country is making extensive preparations for the upcoming Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition, in hope of leaving its mark on the international event. 

Turkey's Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan made the remarks at a meeting in Istanbul on Friday.
Slated to open on April 29th, the 162-day Beijing expo is expected to receive 16 million visitors from around the world.
According to Tarik Sonmez, commissioner general of the Turkish section of the expo, the Turkish pavilion covers an area of 2,400 square meters, consisting of nine different sections.
Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan said she believes Turkey's participation in the Beijing expo will boost the country's tourism industry. 
She added that after the expo, the Turkish pavilion will be donated to China as a gesture of friendship and cooperation.
