Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has slammed the United States' Middle East peace plan as it does not address the issue of Jerusalem.
World News has more.
The Palestinian president made the remarks during his meeting with the new government.
On Saturday evening, Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Ishtaye and 24 ministers were sworn in before Abbas at the Palestinian Authority headquarters.
Abbas was quoted by the official Palestinian News Agency, saying the Palestinian cause is working through difficult circumstances, but the Palestinian leadership and the Palestinian people will cooperate together to confront recent developments.
He said the government currently faces many challenges, including a U.S. proposed peace plan that will be declared soon.
Abbas went on to say that Palestinians reject the U.S. plan because it excludes the issue of Jerusalem.
Ties between the United States and the Palestine have been severed since December 2017 when U.S. President Donald Trump declared that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel.
